Research of geological model-constrained FWI and application in complex fault-block zones

Abstract:A high-precision velocity model can be built through full waveform inversion,but the inversion result is not ideal in a complex fault-block zone because of low S/N radio and limited frequency band.Based on the conventional FWI theory,this paper proposes a model-constrained objective functional formula which constrains full waveform inversion through seismic interpretation.Model and field data show that the model-constrained FWI can provide the velocity field of a complex fault-block zone with high precision.It can improve the image of a complex fault-block zone.
