Abstract:Rollover anticline have similar diffe-rence characteristics of time and depth domains in the eastern South China Sea. Specifically, the depth structure deepens near the fault and lifts away from the fault, and the high point of depth is farther from faults than that of time. These diffe-rence characteristics lead to a large error in the prediction of structure and affect the evaluation of oil-gas reservoir resources exponentially, which are attributed to the rapid decrease in the velocity of the strata on the upper wall away from the main fault. In this study, the velocity variation law of rollover anticline is explored with drilling data. Further, this paper proposes the method for predicting the trend of average velocity along the layer and the method of gradient-constrained velo-city modeling. The following understandings are obtained: ① Velocity gradient has a great impact on reservoir structure evaluation, and the control of a single well and constant velocity over reservoir structure is limited. ② The average velocity of well point within a limited range only has a little influence on structure evaluation. ③ The velocity variation of similar in the study area is related to fault, buried depth and location. ④ The velocity gradient in the local range is directly proportional to the fault displacement and the buried depth, and inversely proportional to the distance between high point and main fault. ⑤ High points in seismic data are generally the preferred locations of exploration. It is necessary to further evaluate rollover anticlines drilled only at high points of time because some oil and gas resources may be missed during oil and gas exploration. The proposed methods successfully promote the exploitation of remaining oil in LF-C oilfield and effectively evaluate the reserve potential of HZ-D oil-bearing structure, conducive to the exploration and development of oil and gas fields.
