Characteristics and reservoir-controlling effect of Kulongshan buried structure

Abstract:The Kulongshan buried structure is an important oil-rich structure in the piedmont thrust belt in the Jiuquan Basin. However,its characteristics and deformation mechanism are controversial due to the limited quality of previous seismic data.For this reason,complex structure modeling is carried out with new 3D seismic data, as well as drilling and logging data, under the guidance of the fault-related fold theory to explore the characteristics and deformation mechanism of the Kulongshan buried structure and the control of the structure over oil and gas accumulation.This study concludes that the Kulongshan buried structure as a whole is a large duplex with a structural pattern of multilayer overthrust decollement. Three secondary decollement faults have developed between the roof and floor faults, and the three fault-bend anticlines are stacked and superposed. The structure is cha-racterized by north-south zoning and east-west segmentation. The overthrust decollement faults control the longitudinal distribution of oil and gas,while the strike-slip tear faults control the lateral enrichment of oil and gas.The above results chart the course for the oil and gas exploration in the next step.
