Abstract:Hetao Basin is an oil-gas bearing superimposed basin developed in the Mesozoic to the Cenozoic. Its discovered oil and gas reservoirs are characterized by large trap scale and high fullness, which are distributed around oil generating centers. At present, the exploration degree in Linhe Depression is very low, and the proved rate of Cretaceous Paleogene resources is only 14.6%, which still has great potential for oil and gas exploration. Therefore, the characteristics of oil and gas accumulation are analyzed based on structure, source rock, and reservoir characteristics to point out the further direction of oil and gas exploration. This study shows that the source-reservoir-circle connection system dominated by faults and sandstone is the main controlling factor for oil and gas accumulation and enrichment in Linhe Depression. There are three types of reservoir accumulation assemblages including self-gene-ration and self-storage, lower generation and upper storage, and upper generation and lower storage. The further favorable exploration directions are Zage structure, Tubudong structure, Wulantuk structure, and Xinghuaxi structure.
