Abstract：Seismic technology is more and more widely used in petroleum industry.Geologist and geophysicist usually have conflicting point of view in process of seismic data application,and some different petroleum scientist and technologist also have confused ideas of conception and method for seismic technology in varying degrees,such as seismic resolution vs structural mapping precision,composite velocity vs lateral velocity inhomogeneity,wave peak (wave trough).sand body and synthetic seismogram making and marking etc.All these have influence on seismic studying depths and levels.The paper discussed and clarified theoretically the conception and technology trying using popular language and standing in angle of application.
