Abstract:Fractal research on reflection coefficient series was done on the basis of fractal theory.The research leads to the conclusion:the power spectrum of reflection coefficient series is not white noise;and it is directly proportional to the power of frequency in most cases,that is to say,the reflection coefficient series has fractal property.Replacing the assumption that the power spectrum of the reflection coefficient series is white noise in deconvolution by the conception that reflection coefficient series is of fractal property.the authors advance fractal deconvolution,which is then demonstrated detailedly in principle.Theoretical and real examples are given here.The examples show fractal deconvolution improves the quality of deconvolution and betters both resolution and signal/noise ratio of seismic data.
