Abstract:The principle and method for making seismic structural map by stacked migration sections are recommended so as to improve .the seismic interpretation accuracy. Involved here are its essential points:1)correlating the mapped seismic horizon in stacked migration sections involved, according to the principle that cross-point reflection times in cross sections are epual;2)the calculation of horizon depths by apparent vertical reflection times in each seismic section and 3)to determine the accurate locations of faulting points in terrrts of their shift values in the seismic sections. In addition, forward and inverse computations are performed for several structural and fault models in linear and nonlinear continuous media under the circumstances:rectangular and ncanrectangular seismic grids as well as constant and varied. lateral velocities. Real result coincides with theoretical one quite well. This method is practically proved to he quite effective. Zt has simpler procedure, higher efficiency, better accruacy and wider applicability than other usual methods do.
