Abstract:The relation between synthetic seismic reflections from one-layer, two-layer, or mufti-layer models and single layer thickness, layer number of interbedding, petrophysics difference of layers, incident wavelet frequency,attenuation coefficients, etc. is analysed. Then the conclusion is drawn that the structure of thin interbedding is the essential generating reflection features and incident wavelets cause great influence on them. In present medium-low frequency seismic exploration, the reflections from thin interbedding usually occur as continuous waveforms or complex waves which can not be distinguished visually. In order to get an good reflection configuration of thin interbedding which can be used in interpretation, we must use wide-band high frequency incident wavelets and high wide一band filtering so that the resolution of mufti-peak reflection configuration can be improved. On the basis of high seismic resclution, the meihod mentioned in the paper may be adopted to research into the geologic structure of thin interbedding.
