Talk about importance of cross-line array of geophone on spread

Abstract:The in-line array of geophone is generally used for field acquisition in the seismic exploration in majority of areas at home currently, which is mainly for suppression of original interference propagating in in-line direction but is not suitable for the desert and mountainous area in western area of China, where the secondary interference is very strong. For that reason, on the basis of analyzing the characters of secondary interference, the paper presented the method of cross-line array of geophone, in which the cross-line array interval equal to the longest apparent wavelength in the interference. It is shown by theoretical analysis and check of experiment that the method can suppress the cross-line secondary interference that cannot be eliminated by indoor processing. Meanwhile, suppression of interference should follow the principle combining field with indoor processing for denoise, that is, the in-line regular interference such as original plane wave and refractions can be further suppressed by indoor smear on the basis of static corrections, and the S/N ratio of seismic data in complex surface area can be effectively improved. It is shown by using wide-line plus the experiment of large cross-line array interval of geophone in Krasu and Xiqiulitak areas of Tarim basin that the method can be used for a main tool improving the quality of seismic data acquisition in complex areas.
