Abstract:Based on Reservoir Fuyu in the Area Chao 44, Terrace Chaoyanggou, we analyze identification marks on geologic and logging data, and seismic characteristics, and discuss a method for characterizing composite channel sand body in fluvial-delta facies. The following observations have been obtained: ①There are six types of identification marks of geologic and logging data established on some aspects including differences between forming periods and sizes of adjacent channels, and changes of sedimentary microfacies and sand body thickness-to-width ratio; ②Four types of composite sand bodies are recognized as juxtaposition type of the same period, crosscutting type of different period, inter-channel muddy type and inter-channel sandy type. On seismic reflection data, they are respectively characterized by four different seismic responses including “decreased reflected energy and reduced apparent thickness”, “waveform rupture like faults”, “abrupt reflection down-throw”, and “decreased energy and increased apparent thickness”; ③Single channel boundary and sand connective relationship between channles in conposite sand bodies can be well described by the method, including fixing position by geological understanding, confirming point by logging identification, guiding direction by seismic attributes trend and determining type by seismic section.
