Common shot(receiver) gather residual static correction

Abstract:For the seismic data with low signal to noise ratio and large residual static correction,the common surface point residual static correction method in which the residual static correction for shot point and receiver were respectively calculated was proposed in this paper.Based on the NMO common shot point gathers and NMO common receiver point gathers,the residual static correction on both receiver and shot points were respectively estimated by cross-correlating each trace in the gathers with the model traces which were the stacking traces of the NMO common shot point gathers or the NMO common receiver point gathers respectively.The testing for the theoretical and field data shows that the method could solve the static correction problem for the seismic data with low signal to noise ratio and the large residual static correction.
