Three-dimensional modeling based on integration of full wave inversion and well logging data

Abstract:Seismic inversion based on a convolution model can obtain high resolution result, but it strongly depends on the initial model. So how to build a reasonable and accurate initial model is essential. The full waveform inversion (FWI) method based on the wave equation can obtain accurate and stable low frequency result, and the inversion result has good lateral fidelity. Well logging data have high vertical resolution and abundant frequency information, but it can only reflect characteristics at well location. In this paper, we propose a joint modeling method based on integration of waveform inversion result with well logging data to improve precision of initial model, and then improve the inversion result. Real data application results show that the established 3D model has advantages of both lateral and vertical high resolution. The use of this initial model for convolution model inversion improves the accuracy of reservoir prediction.
