Abstract:Low frequency energy will be lost when we suppress ground roll with filtering in the frequency domain. To solve this problem we propose in this paper a new ground roll suppression approach based on predictive and adaptive subtraction.Firstly, using the interferometry theory,we predict ground roll model with data cross-correlation.Then,we build an optimal problem and solve this problem to correct the amplitude and phase difference between predicted ground roll and actual ground roll in the complex curvelet domain. Finally,we subtract the corrected ground roll from original dataset to achieve ground roll suppression.Tests on both synthetic and field datasets demonstrate that the proposed approach can effectively suppress ground roll and protect low frequency signals.
