Abstract:The Central Sichuan Basin has become a hot spot for oil and gas exploration since a great deep discovery in Well GS1 area. However oil and gas exploration rhythm in this area slows down later due to unclear deep seismic reflection. So gravity, magnetic, electromagnetic and seismic joint exploration may provide great help.We put forward in this paper an idea of magnetotelluric (MT) inversion constrained by shallow logging and seismic data for deep rift identification. We first build a shallow layer model based on logging and seismic data, and then carry out MT inversion constrained by the model to improve deep target imaging. Our research reveals a deep rift-type faulted basin in the Central Sichuan Basin.Combined with previous data,we consider that the shoulder part of the deep basin and the secondary uplift in fault depressions are favorable targets for the future exploration.
