Angle domain prestack Gaussian beam migration for visco-acoustic media

Abstract:As an improvement of ray migration methods,the Gaussian beam migration method has the advantage of high imaging accuracy and high computational efficiency.Based on conventional prestack Gaussian beam depth migration methods,we develop an angle domain prestack Gaussian beam depth migration method for visco-acoustic media,which modifies complex amplitude and complex traveltime of the Gaussian beam's Green function,and combines with the computation of the angle information in the Gaussian beams propagation process.Besides,we give the detailed implementation process.On the basis of the implementation of the algorithm,we test our method with two typical models.Result shows that the proposed method can compensate for attenuation effectively and partly improve the resolution of migrated images.
