Abstract:The motion of geophone shells does not equal to that of ground,and the difference between these two is called "ground-geophone coupling effect",a major influence factor during seismic wave recor-ding. Although much work on this subject has been done in laboratory,large-scale measuring and correction of ground-geophone coupling effect in field is not commercially available. Thanks to the patented technique (Coupling Evaluation Geophone),the author clarifies the relationship between the measuring results and relevant principles of vibration mechanics,and the large-scale (commercial) measuring of geophone-ground coupling effect in field has been achieved. Furthermore this new technique,which can be called "decoupling deconvolution",can be used to remove coupling effect by calculation with corresponding response parameters obtained in field. After decoupling,the consistency of high frequency data among gathers is enhanced,and then S/N,resolution,and fidelity of seismic data can be greatly improved as well.
