Abstract:On the basis of electromagnetic field theory, this paper first builds the heterogeneous casing cross-well model including borehole, casing, cement sheath, neighboring rock and targets in a condition of the heterogeneous casing cross-well low-frequency electromagnetic field, and then analyzes the effect of neighboring rock on cross-well electromagnetic logging(CWEML) by finite element method. The result shows that the effect of neighboring rock is bigger as the target stratum is thinner;and the change of electromotive force is larger when neighboring rock resistivity(RsRt)is lower. These numerical results are helpful for correction of the effect of neighboring rock in CWEML.
