Detailed Instructions for Authors/submission note

Journal of  Geophysical Prospecting is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes cutting-edge theory, innovative methodologies and new achievements in  geophysical exploration. Its scope includes: New achievements in theoretical research of geophysical exploration; Innovative methodologies in geophysical exploration; Successful cases in geophysical data interpretation; Case studies of geophysical exploration; Reviews of new geophysical technologies and outlook of future trends in the field.

1. General Requirements

1.1 The manuscript must be a scientific paper addressing the aforementioned research areas.

1.2 The submitted manuscript must not be under review elsewhere or previously published in any formal publication (excluding papers presented at academic conferences).

1.3 Manuscripts must be prepared in strict accordance with the journal's prescribed scientific paper format and typeset using the official template (available for download under "Author Center" on the right side of the website homepage).

1.4 All submissions must be completed exclusively through the "Online Submission" system on the journal's official website (http://www.ogp-cn.comorhttp://www.ogp-cn.com.cn). No alternative submission methods will be accepted. First-time contributors should complete registration as prompted before proceeding.

1.5 All submissions must be prepared in Microsoft Word document format. PDF versions may be additionally submitted if necessary.

1.6 Manuscript documents should not exceed 10MB in file size, with a maximum length of 10 pages.

1.7 Figures and tables in this journal are printed in full color. Figures may be submitted in either color or black-and-white, but must be concise, clear, and self-explanatory. Each figure and table must have a corresponding caption (figure title/table title) and be sequentially embedded in the appropriate location within the main text. Tables should preferably be presented in three-line format. To ensure printing quality, please separately upload high-resolution editable graphic files (minimum 300 dpi resolution) in a compressed package, maintaining complete consistency with the figures in the main text. Digitally created figures are strongly preferred.

1.8 Authors are encouraged to nominate 3-5 potential reviewers from relevant research fields to facilitate the review process. They may also provide a list of non-preferred reviewers to be avoided.

1.9 The English abstract must comply with this journal's prescribed format. The English versions of authors' names and institutional affiliations will be published exactly as provided by the authors.Should any contact information change, authors must promptly update their details on the journal website to avoid delays in manuscript processing.

2. Manuscript Processing Procedure and Requirements

2.1 The journal employs a "three-tier review system" for manuscript evaluation, featuring double-blind peer review. The standard processing workflow is as follows:

Editorial Office Preliminary Review → External Peer Review (Double-Blind) → Editor-in-Chief Final Decision → Acceptance Pending Publication → Copyediting → Printing & Distribution.

2.2 The editorial office typically notifies authors of the review outcome via email within 90 days of manuscript receipt. During this period, authors may track the review progress through the online submission tracking system in the Author Center.

2.3 Upon receiving revision requests, authors should complete all revisions within 30 days in accordance with both the reviewers' and editorial office's comments. The revised manuscript (with tracked changes visible) and a point-by-point revision response (in Word format) must be uploaded to the submission system.

2.4 Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary review, external peer review, and final editorial decision will enter the "Accepted for Publication" stage. Subsequently, the editorial office will conduct copyediting on the accepted manuscripts. For manuscripts that have completed the editing process, the editorial office will determine both the online-first publication date and print issue assignment based on specific circumstances.

3. Additional Notes

3.1 The corresponding author must provide accurate email address and mobile phone number to ensure reliable communication.

3.2 Authors bear full responsibility for the authorship, main content and viewpoints of the paper. The editorial office reserves the right to make technical and editorial modifications, while substantive changes will only be made with authors' consent.

3.3 Upon publication, authors will be charged publication fees and receive remuneration. Two complimentary copies will be provided to the first author. Published articles may be included in relevant abstracting services and databases. Copyright royalties will be paid along with the remuneration. Authors who disagree with these terms should indicate so during submission; otherwise, consent will be assumed. After publication, copyright (including online rights) will be transferred to the editorial office.

3.4 This journal has established an early online publication partnership with CNKI. Accepted manuscripts that comply strictly with our formatting guidelines will be prioritized for publication in China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database (CAJD).

3.5 Authors should expect editorial feedback within three months of submission. In the absence of a response after this period, authors may consider the manuscript withdrawn and submit elsewhere. For status inquiries, please contact the editorial office by phone or email.
